  1. Avery Bernstein says:

My son is still in infancy, however we plan to use a mix of “real books” and texts as we need. I hope to do mostly “real world” learning with him. Not quite “unschooling”, but no rigid with textbooks.

  2. Evanna says:

I don’t think there is a word for my approach…maybe eclectic. It’s a combo of LED, prayer, CM, Beechick, living books, character, and whatever else I think we need to trough in there.

  3. Kim says:

    We currently are using amblesideonline.

  4. Julie says:

I use a VERY eclectic mix of everything from KONOS to classical CM to fit my individual children’s needs.

  5. Robin says:

I am currently using a unit study method with strong leaning toward Ruth Beechick. I love her way of keeping it simple and her strong faith in the Word of God!

  6. I am very eclectic in my homeschooling. We do some unit study type approach, mostly literature led, though in the kids younger days we did more activities with our units; for History and Science. I plan these myself with a spine or two to guide our study. We do some Charlotte Mason, especially nature study when the kids were younger, though we still do nature walks; and composer, artist, hymn, and poetry study like it is described on Ambleside.org. We use some textbooks, specifically Math, and we use some workbooks mostly for the Language Arts, Bible and a Elective or two. We do other practical subjects with reading and hands-on activities in the home like Home and Life Management, learning to care for and repair things around the home and with cars.

That is the basics. We use a little of everything. It works for us. I spend the summers planning our school and then work from my plans day to day. I am excited about the giveaways today and excited to see what the other participants have to say in answer to this question.
