Tagged

I’ve been self-tagged by Mandi @ Under His Construction. Here’s the rules for this book tag:

1. Pick up the nearest book of at least 123 pages.

2. Open the book to page 123.

3. Find the 5th sentence.

4. Post the next 3 sentences.

5. Tag 5 people.

1. I figured the Bible was too obvious, so I grabbed the next closest book.

2. which was Valley of Vision, which had more than 123 pages.

3. However, it did not have 5 sentences on page 123, as that was the end of a “chapter”/prayer.

4. Here’s the “next 3 sentences” from the NEXT closest book, Morning and Evening by Charles H. Spurgeon.

Believer, have you not found in the midst of plenty a sore famine if your Lord has been absent? The sun was shining, but Christ had hidden Himself, and all the world was black to you; or it was night, and since the bright and morning star was gone, no other star could yield you so much as a ray of light. What a howling wilderness is this world without our Lord!

5. I’ve tagged more than 5 (more than double) since I’m not sure how many will participate. Please play along 🙂 I’d like to know what you are reading. And please comment back here after you’ve posted your tag, so I know. I have more friends I’d like to hear this from, but I’m not sure if you’re blogging anymore, since you haven’t had posts in a long time. You know who you are. Yep, you! 🙂

    Hi Lisa,

I’ve never been tagged before but I think I got this figured out. I’m just not sure I have 5 others to tag. I’ve post on my blog. Thanks for including me. 🙂

  2. Deb says:

    Hi Lisa,

This is the first time I’ve been tagged. I think I got it figured out. I’ve posted at my blog so I am participating. Thanks!

    Blessings,
    Deb

  3. Deb says:

Sorry for the double post! 🙂

  4. Thanks Kristine and Deb. I look forward to popping on over and seeing what you’re reading.

Deb, I’ve never been tagged before either, so who knows if we’re doing it “right”. Just post your book, and if you think of anyone to tag, tag who you can. And if no one, you can do what Mandi did and make it an open tag, for anyone who reads it to pick it up.

    Thanks both of you.

I still don’t know if I was suppose to contact the people I tagged, or just hope they are reading and see it 🙂

Hi Lisa! I just went to your blog today and found out that I’ve been tagged! I played along. Yep, you were talking to me I have not posted in a while at BP Yahoo! group but I still read it and my blog had gotten neglected too but my SIL light that fire in me so I’m starting to blog at least once a week now. 🙂

  6. Renae says:

    Lisa,
Last time I was here it said your comments were closed. I’m glad they are open again. 🙂

I am delighted to participate, but it may take me a few days to get to it. I have an award to pass on, and I’m trying to get my math series finished. It has already taken longer than I planned.

And you did your “tag” just fine. It’s your blog, so you can play any way you want. :)I think people see that you’ve linked to them, so contacting them isn’t necessary. I usually follow up with an email just to be friendly. Unless, of course, I get sick right after posting, which is what happened last time.

    Thanks for thinking of me.

  7. Thanks Summer and Renae, I look forward to seeing what books are closest to you. 🙂

Summer, good for you, getting back to blogging.

Renae, yes, I noticed when I came back to check the post that it said comments closed! – Yikes! don’t have a clue how that happened, anyhow got them opened as soon as I noticed. This was not the post for that fluke to happen.

  8. Mandi says:

I must have tried to comment that same day as well – that is why I commented on another post. ( :

Again thanks for playing along! I am so glad you tagged so many! I am heading off now to read everyone’s post! ( :

  9. Summer says:

Ok, don’t check my blog yet. I have gotten distracted. The twins birthday party is this weekend and so I’m trying to get that ready but I hope to get this done this evening! 🙂

  10. Hi Summer,
We’re all just a bunch of rebels? Everyone of us breaking the rules in some way.

Or is that just being a home educating mom finding the best way we’re able to do something at the time, when neither the motive, process, or outcome is sinful or consequential?
