Help for Child Training

The responsibility to train the little ones God has entrusted into our care is a weighty one. Doing it for His glory, with Grace & Truth, is humanly impossible. But thankfully He is with us to help us, and He’s given us wisdom in His Word for us to follow. It seems much of that parenting wisdom held by previous generations has been lost. I am thankful for teachers like Dennis who seek to help us return to those old paths. I love the Grace & Truth bookstore (and all the books I’ve gotten from them) and this CD set sounds awesome. Wish I could win it. 🙂 ~ Me

  2. Lori Morgan says:

He has taught me to parent with grace and truth because I am a sinner in need of that same grace and truth.

  3. Lisa says:

Deut 6:7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

I’ve learned to seek daily opportunities to talk to my 2 year old daughter about God. In addition to praying before meals and bedtime, I try to find other times to teach her about God. When taking a walk with her, I point out the plants and animals that God has made. When reading, I sometimes talk to her about how God made our eyes to see and our minds to understand.

  4. Becki L says:

That if I am earnestly practicing patience with my children, His grace will always be sufficient for me.

  5. Felicia says:

As a parent I am still learning and God grants me grace and I also need to allow my children grace as they learn.

God is teaching me to rely more on him and to pass that on to the kids. Hopefully their struggles will be different than mine.

  11. Heather says:

    1) That the Bible teaches us in areas regarding sin/forgiveness… not just what we learn in other areas of study such as math, art, history, etc. He has principles for every area of our lives! 🙂

  26. Amy W. says:

I have three very young boys that are very close in age (and will likely have more children, if God so chooses to give them to us) and many times I feel like I can’t do it, that it is impossible for me to be a good mother to my 32 month old, 20 month old, and 3 month old. It’s TOO hard. God recently reminded me that whatever situation He places me in- including being a mother to many little ones- it IS possible to thrive in it and do it right…not because of who I am, but because I have Him, and He can do anything.

I am SO glad I have a parent who always parents me in Grace and Truth – Father God. Oh that I might be conformed more into His image. Without His grace in my life, I could not be half the mom I desire to be.

    And the winner is —

    Jyl!
    Congratulations! I’ll be emailing you.
