Last week’s studies brought us to the hymn writer lauded by some as the last great American hymn writer who wrote hymns based on the Sovereignty of God and to His glory alone, Ray Palmer.
The hymn we learned was already known to me. It’s richness touches the soul that loves God. Read more about it here, where I’ll be weekly blogging on the Psalms and Hymns we study as a part of the Saturday Psalm and Praise meme.
Dear Lisa,
I discovered an old book about hymn writers at Google Books. It is “Immortal Hymns and Their Stories” by Louis Albert Banks (1897). “My Faith Looks Up to Thee” is included.

Awesome. I’ll have to go check it out. I LOVE old books, and though I prefer “real” books to ebooks, I take what I can get. 🙂 And many times check them out online, before investing in sometimes costly old books.
Whoa – guess I’ll live with the e version of this one – even if I REALLY like it. I just checked and prices run from $60-$200 for the ones I found!
