L.E.D.™ Resources & RecommendationsHisStory: Historical Fiction & Literature |
I won't even try to list all the great Literature you could add to your home library. But, I will give you a few resources where you can find such lists, and a few series you will want to check into - and a few "can't miss" books in this category. The first 3 books listed here are "Books of Books" - giving lists of books to read, reviews, and listings within subject, location, and/or timeperiod.
Thank you for your order through our links. It helps support the many aspects of "free" ministry from Me and My House.

Books Children Love: A Guide to the Best Children's Literature Easy to use, helpful resource, especially when you aren't as up to speed as you'd like to be concerning children's literature. Lamplighter - Rare Collectors Series and more! Click here to go to the publisher's site for a list of titles. Then return here and put the name in the search box below to order. These classics, by various authors, may not be ones you know the names of, but once you read them you will never forget. They truly are Lifechanging Literature, written in a time when authors weren't afraid to have a good moral to a great story. Although these were written in a time with more advanced language than today's children are accustomed to, my young boys begged me to continue on "just one more chapter today" in several of these books. It may be different than common today, and they may not understand all the words, but children know great writing when they hear it. Don't miss Basket of Flowers and Hedge of Thorns.
Henty Historical Fiction Henty wrote most captivating historical fiction in the 1800's. The hardbacks from PrestonSpeed make an awesome collector's library, but the paperbacks from PrestonSpeed are very nice too. Many titles throughout all of history. Several sets also available.
