"For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: " ~ Isaiah 28:10

This is our basic lesson planning format.

Using this format

This is pretty much the format we use for planning most lessons. However, it is not a "one-size-fits-all" pattern. It is adjusted/adapted as needed. The lessons themselves don't necessarily all end up in this format. These are the things I seek to include in a lesson.

This may not make much sense if you don't understand our approach to learning and teaching. Our Freedom & Simplicity™ guides are our primary resources specifically designed to help you understand how and why we use this format in applying Lifestyle Education through Discipleship™ - after gaining a foundation through Freedom & Simplicity™ of Lifestyle Education through Discipleship™ ~ The Seminar. In addition, we encourage you to read our website and blog for further FREE help.

"IV drip"

You may not find this term elsewhere on our site, so I'll explain it here. "IV drip" is a term used by Katherine Dang, meaning to just teach your children a little at a time. Don't overfill them or it won't settle. They will "upchuck". Slow and steady, one point at a time, and they will get it. This is the biblical method of instruction, "line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little."

See an example from a JBC (Judah Bible Curriculum) Lesson.

How do we use this in teaching the lesson?

  1. We Lay the Foundation for the lesson.
  2. We Present the Lesson
  3. We Discuss the Lesson
  4. We Enrich the Lesson
  5. We Document the Lesson
