Most are downloadable to your computer and can be read on it, and many can be printed out if you prefer a paper copy. All of our <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/frommeandmyhouse.com\/blog-led\/ledstore\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Me &amp; My House<\/em> exclusive resources<\/a><\/strong> are such. There are also apps from most of the eReader companies for reading their books on computers or mobile devices, like your tablet or smartphone. So don&#8217;t let the lack of an eReader stop you from enjoying great ebooks, especially when many great classics are available for free!<\/p>\n<p>Below I&#8217;ve listed many free ebook sites I have used. Probably the first half-dozen are the ones I find most helpful and use most. Following that are some specialty sites and other misc. sites where I&#8217;ve found what I was looking for. In addition, you can find some of my favorite <strong>Helpful Resources<\/strong> links in the sidebar of this site.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianbook.com\/Christian\/Books\/cms_content?event=AFF&amp;p=1020434&amp;page=2489042&amp;sp=110934\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Christian Book Distributors<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0&#8211; is our favorite discount bookstore for Christian and home ed books. They now also carry ebooks. They have a few good FREE ones, as well as many others. This is the place to find current Christian books in ebook format. Using our links to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianbook.com\/Christian\/Books\/cms_content?event=AFF&amp;p=1020434&amp;page=2489042&amp;sp=110934\" target=\"_blank\">Christianbook.com<\/a>\u00a0helps support\u00a0<em>Me &amp; My House ministries<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianbook.com\/Christian\/Books\/cms_content?event=AFF&amp;p=1020434&amp;page=2489042&amp;sp=110934\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/frommeandmyhouse.com\/images\/cbd-ebook-header.jpg\" width=\"362\" height=\"36\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccel.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Christian Classics Ethereal Library<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; the place to find free Christian classics, (also Bibles and commentaries,) online.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.archive.org\/details\/texts\" target=\"_blank\">Internet Archive<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; Free online texts for download. A good place to find out of print, old texts and classics. This is probably my most used free ebook site.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gutenberg.org\/wiki\/Main_Page\" target=\"_blank\">Project Gutenburg<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; 42,000 free ebooks &#8211; another great, often used site.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gracegems.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Grace Gems.org<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; Books, quotes, sermons, devotionals, etc.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/library.timelesstruths.org\/texts\/_\/\" target=\"_blank\">Timeless Truths<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; free online library, Christian.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.garynorth.com\/freebooks\/sidefrm2.htm\" target=\"_blank\">ICE (Institute for Christian Economics)<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; free Christian educational\/ Biblical worldview resources. &#8220;The 90-plus free books and 800-plus free newsletters on this site introduce Christians to the fundamental principles for building a Bible-based Christian worldview.&#8221; Not old books, many of them also still in print and available for purchase, much on economics.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Googlebooks<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; free ebooks on just about everything.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Online Books Page\u00a0<\/a>&#8211; over 1 million free ebooks listed &#8211; hosted by the University of Pennsylvania Library.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mainlesson.com\/main\/displayarticle.php?article=mission\" target=\"_blank\">The Baldwin Online Children&#8217;s Literature Project<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; children&#8217;s literature in the public domain, to read online or purchase in ebook or print format.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/quod.lib.umich.edu\/m\/moa\/\" target=\"_blank\">Making of America books<\/a>: Michegan U &#8211; approx. 10,000 19th century books.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.earlyamerica.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Archiving Early America<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; Primary source documents from the 18th century.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldwideschool.org\/library\/catalogs\/bysubject-top.html\" target=\"_blank\">Worldwide School Library<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; educational books online.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iclnet.org\/pub\/resources\/christian-books.html\" target=\"_blank\">Internet Christian Library<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; Bibles, Bible study aids, and books.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.americanjourneys.org\/index.asp\" target=\"_blank\">American Journeys<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; eyewitness accounts of Early American exploration and settlement.<\/p>\n<p>Cornell U:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/cdl.library.cornell.edu\/moa\/browse.author\/c.143.html\" target=\"_blank\">Making of America periodicals<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; Old periodicals, good primary source documents.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/mn\/search\/?_encoding=UTF8&amp;node=2245146011&amp;tag=meandmyhoumin-20&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957\" target=\"_blank\">Free Popular Classics for Kindle<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=meandmyhoumin-20&amp;l=ur2&amp;o=1\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/>\u00a0&#8211; these are for use on the Kindle.
