It\u2019s 4 days \u2018fore Christmas and here at our house,
\neveryone\u2019s bustling, thank God there\u2019s no mouse.<\/p>\n
No stockings, but garland is hanging so bright,
\nAnd outdoors the house is all trimmed with the lights.
\nNativities cover each table and shelf,
\nNo santa clause here, not one tiny elf.<\/p>\n
The presents are piled so high on the bed,
\nThe children are cranky, they must all need fed.
\nThen tackle those dozens of presents to wrap,
\nThen rock with the baby to give him a nap.<\/p>\n
Mail grandmother\u2019s gift that must travel so far.
\nMake gifts for the neighbors, something in a jar.
\nLet\u2019s sew up some ponchos and not take a rest,
\nThen lounge pants for boys, and chaps and a vest.<\/p>\n
Let\u2019s have our friends over and exchange our toys.
\nThat will bring smiles to both girls and boys.
\nAnd caroling we\u2019ll go after dinner together,
\nWe couldn\u2019t have asked for much better weather.<\/p>\n
Now haircuts to get and pictures to take,
\nthe one in our card looks like a mistake.<\/p>\n
Clean up the house, here you take the broom.
\nSister is coming, clean out the guest room.
\nPlease wash the sheets. Then vacuum the floor.
\nCan you get the phone, while I get the door?<\/p>\n
The program is over, the children did great.
\nThey each had a part and none came in late.
\nJoseph, who\u2019s otherwise usually called Jed.
\nPlayed with the star, and poked Jesus in bed.<\/p>\n
We\u2019ll all go to church, communion to take,
\nOh that reminds me, the bread I must bake.
\nWe\u2019ll take a nativity to sister\u2019s grave.
\nAnd come home for cookies that our dear friends gave.<\/p>\n
We\u2019ll all go to grandpa\u2019s, that is most of us.
\nHave dinner and presents, and relax – we must.
\nThen wake in the morning and open gifts here,
\nMark actually has Christmas off for this year!<\/p>\n
Then over to in-laws, more holiday cheer,
\nThen back home to crash before the New Year.<\/p>\n
\u2018Though busy we are, it\u2019s all for one cause,
\nTo spread our God\u2019s love, not play santa clause.<\/p>\n
We love each one dearly, want to show everyone,
\nThat God came to earth in the form of His Son.
\nTo pay for our sins and bring to us new birth,
\nTo make us like Him. We must honor His worth.<\/p>\n
That babe in a manger, is King over all,
\nRead Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and then Paul.
\nHe\u2019s risen victorious, conquered death and the grave,
\nHe made you and me, and is worthy of praise.<\/p>\n
May all of your focus in this busy time,
\nBe upon the Lord Jesus, our God that\u2019s Divine.
\nMay all celebrations, so busy yet fun,
\nBring glory to God, and bless God every one.<\/p>\n
