This week I will be ‘Live Blogging’ the Ultimate Homeschool Expo. I really don’t know how many live speaking sessions I’ll get to. But it will be a busy week. If you don’t have your ticket yet, get it now – $40! for a full week of live sessions, plenty of vendors booths with a ton of Free Gifts. PLUS you can listen and browse, download and buy at YOUR convenience – long after the Expo is over.
This Expo is as large as any live homeschool conference I’ve attended – perhaps by now larger than the largest I’ve attended. We went into the Expo with over 3000 Members. As of last night, I heard the total was somewhere between 3500-4000.
I will miss the face to face contact with the attenders, that I SO LOVE when presenting at a LIVE convention. And it sure won’t be "busy" in the same sense as it is when working a LIVE convention. But those don’t last a whole week either! I will mainly be here taking care of my family, and popping into the Expo whenever I have a chance. And (hopefully) still filling plenty of orders for Me and My House exclusive resources. (But if you’re a Member of the Expo, use the link on my Vendor’s page, not this one, to get a special deal. If I haven’t convinced you to join the Expo, you can still take advantage of our Anniversary Tax Sale.)
My booth stands there without me to tailor my presentation to the individuals that visit it. The closest to personal contact you’re going to get is email and comments here on my L.E.D. musings. But I also will be completely available to my family, and have more opportunity (maybe) to attend other sessions and not just get the recordings, (as I have to at Live conventions.) And I do have a LIVE Seminar coming up in June, where I’ll get to present Lifestyle Education thorugh Discipleship™ to attenders face to face. (Can you join us?)

Yesterday the UHSE kicked off without me in the morning. Somehow I wasn’t getting the Member’s emails and so was a bit behind at getting info. So the children and I worshipped and studied. And then I got into the very tail end of JoJo Tabares, speaking on Communication. I missed Rhea Perry while we were working here. (Did she make it, or did Cindy have to jump in?) I got back toward the end of Felice Gerwitz, speaking on Science. And was able to make it for Cindy Carrier, in the evening, speaking on "You’re NOT Superwoman!"
The Conference room crashed so we had to move over to TalkShoe. I actually like TalkShoe. The audio seems better – and mainly I can use my Mac for it, and don’t have to use a headset. But the Chat isn’t as easy to follow.
The Conference room came back up later, so several were chatting in Conference and listening in TalkShoe. That was — different. Especially since I had them going on 2 different computers, since Conference doesn’t work on my Mac. The "chatting" during sessions still bugs me (even though I participate). It’s just weird – OK? And it going on in TWO chat rooms, during the speaker was just too much. I know, I’ve got to get over it. I’m used to LIVE conferences, where nobody talks and just listens intently. — especially when I’M the speaker!! Listen up ladies!! My kids get in big trouble for chatting when I’m talking to them.
On the Members Site, I got through the Mommy Grab Bag – and downloaded tons of stuff – yesterday. (Still have to go through and organize it, and check for doubles from before. Since I know many of these businesses, I may already have some of them.
In the Vendors Hall – I made it through the "A’s". I figure if I don’t do it in order I’ll never hit them all.
I also set up the RSS feed, so all the speaking sessions will download straight to my iTunes, and I don’t have to worry about missing a session.
To cap it off, I WON "The Growing Homeschool" book that Cindy Carrier gave away!! Awesome way to end the day.
Won’t you join us for the Ultimate Homeschool Expo?
