The base layer is brownie. The middle layer is a cream (almost mousse like) with peppermint. The top is ganache. \u00a0I adapted a recipe I found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/0-6383\/Raw-Vegan-Chocolate-Peppermint-Brownies.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">online<\/a>. Oh, and it&#8217;s a &#8220;raw food&#8221; recipe &#8211; no baking &#8211; and Good for You-Naturally!\u2122<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s close enough to Friday to make this a Friday Food post, especially since so many have asked for the recipe. So here goes&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Decadent 3 Layer &#8220;Raw&#8221; Brownies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1602\" style=\"margin: 6px;\" title=\"3layerbrownie\" src=\"http:\/\/frommeandmyhouse.com\/blog-fromme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/3layerbrownie-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"http:\/\/frommeandmyhouse.com\/blog-fromme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/3layerbrownie-300x224.jpg 300w, http:\/\/frommeandmyhouse.com\/blog-fromme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/3layerbrownie-1024x764.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Brownie Layer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3\/4+ cup raw almond flour* (see below)<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup raw cacao powder<\/li>\n<li>pinch nutmeg<\/li>\n<li>very small pinch unrefined salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mix together. Add:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/4 pure maple syrup<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp. pure vanilla extract (mine&#8217;s\u00a0homemade)<\/li>\n<li>approx. 2 Tbl. pure water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In food processor, add maple syrup and extract to dry ingredients, process. Gradually add water to get just wet enough to be all mixed and hold together &#8211; brownie consistency. Press into small pyrex rectangle pan.<\/p>\n<p>(This is a bit different than my regular <a href=\"http:\/\/frommeandmyhouse.com\/blog-fromme\/friday-food-brownies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bRAWnie recipe<\/a>, which would also work as a base &#8211; but the maple syrup in these is yum.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cream Layer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(This makes twice as much as needed for this small pan. But my food processor wouldn&#8217;t do the half-size recipe. I left half of this cashew cream without the cacao in it for another use.)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/4 cup fresh coconut milk (blend coconut meat with coconut water)<\/li>\n<li>2 Tbl coconut butter (Artisana brand is what I have)<\/li>\n<li>1 cup raw cashews, soaked<\/li>\n<li>approx. 20-25 drops Sweet Leaf stevia drops (plain or peppermint) and<\/li>\n<li>4-6 drops <a href=\"http:\/\/my.doterra.com\/godsscents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">doTerra Peppermint Essential Oil<\/a>\u00a0 (whatever to get the right sweetness and as pepperminty as you like &#8211; since this was my first time making this, I used a combination of these trying to get just the right mix. Next time I&#8217;ll get more precise.)<\/li>\n<li>2 Tbl. raw cacao powder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Process until smooth and creamy. Spread about 1\/2 on top of brownies and refrigerate to set.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ganache Topping<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 cup pure maple syrup<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup + 1-2 Tbl. raw cacao powder (told you this was death by chocolate!) \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<li>2-3 Tbl. raw extra virgin coconut oil<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp pure vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbl \u00a0coconut butter<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1603\" style=\"margin: 6px;\" title=\"3layerbrowniepan\" src=\"http:\/\/frommeandmyhouse.com\/blog-fromme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/3layerbrowniepan-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"http:\/\/frommeandmyhouse.com\/blog-fromme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/3layerbrowniepan-300x224.jpg 300w, http:\/\/frommeandmyhouse.com\/blog-fromme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/3layerbrowniepan-1024x764.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>(Again I had to do a bit of adjusting, by adding a bit more cacao and the coconut butter to get a thicker\u00a0consistency. You want a soft creamy spreadable texture. Not as stiff as frosting, but not runny.)<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Process till soft and creamy. Spread on top and return to refrigerator.<\/p>\n<p>(This Ganache would make a scrumptious fudge topping for ice cream, or frosting for cupcakes, or just eat it with a spoon.) \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>You could also double the brownie recipe, and omit the cream layer for a plain &#8220;frosted&#8221; brownie.<\/p>\n<p>Mm-mm good.<\/p>\n<p>* Almond flour &#8211; Get 2 for the price of one. I make almond flour from the pulp leftover from making almond milk.
